Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me..."
Matthew 19:14

Nursery: Birth-3 years old
Jr. Kidz: 4 years old - Kindergarten
Kidz Church: 1st - 3rd grade
Kidz Connect: 4th- 6th grade
Newborn through 3 years old, we'll take good care of your precious little one so you can worship worry-free on a Sunday morning, or attend a small group on Wednesday Night! Be sure to bring a diaper bag or anything else that your baby/toddler might need. Please notify your child's teacher if there are any allergies or diagnosis that we should be aware of.
Our Jr. Kidz team focuses on keeping your child (ages 4 through Kindergarten) engaged and active, while also teaching them about Jesus. Don't be surprised when they come home tired...and with a prize! Children in this classroom must be potty trained. Please notify your child's teacher if there are any allergies or diagnosis that we should be aware of.
Our Kidz Church team is ready to welcome your child with games, engaging lessons, age-appropriate worship, and a solid Biblical curriculum. Kids can come ready to learn about Jesus with other kids their age. Kidz Church is for 1st - 3rd grade on Sunday Mornings. On Wednesday evenings, Kidz Church is for elementary aged kids 1st-5th grade.
Our Kidz Connect classroom is for 4th-6th graders on Sunday mornings and is designed to bridge the gap between Freedom Kidz and Freedom Youth. With a year of overlap in 6th grade, students join Freedom Kidz on Sundays while also attending Youth on Wednesdays, making the transition into a new ministry smooth and comfortable. Part of that experience includes joining our main service during corporate worship in the sanctuary before returning to class.

Sarah Owen
Children's Ministry Director
Since joining Freedom Church staff in 2020, Sarah has poured her heart into leading the Children’s Ministry, guiding kids from birth through 6th grade to know and love Jesus. From Sunday services to special events, she oversees every detail of ministry for the youngest members of the church and delights in seeing them grow in faith. Her favorite moments? Hearing stories of kids sharing the gospel with their friends and watching their excitement for Jesus unfold. Sarah has a close-knit family who also attend Freedom Church and cherishes that sense of community both at home and at church.
When she’s not ministering to kids, you might find her indulging in contrast therapy at SweatHouz, enjoying a good book, sipping her favorite 7 Brew iced sugar-free Blondie coffee or Alani Pink Slush, and scrolling Instagram from the comfort of her bed. She’s also a self-proclaimed pasta and pizza enthusiast—pepperoni always wins. Her heart for kids is matched by her prayer: that each child would know just how loved they are by the Creator of the universe, build a strong foundation in faith, and grow to serve in their church and beyond. Sarah lives by Ephesians 6, taking up the full armor of God with the sword of the Spirit as her favorite weapon. Fun fact: Though she loves kids, she’s not an animal person - she admits even the thought of caring for a dog makes her hesitate! And if she could have a superpower? Time travel - so she could see the world change over the years, all while standing in one place. Born and raised in Kansas, she now calls Augusta home, where she continues to invest in the next generation of Jesus followers.

Sunday Experience
All children will need to be checked into our system, and wearing a name tag before entering our Freedom Kidz Classrooms. All of our classrooms follow the same monthly curriculum. What your 4 year old is learning in Jr. Kidz, your 3rd grader is learning in Kidz Church. Each classroom will teach the same lesson in a way that each age group can easily understand. With all of our classrooms learning the same lesson, this allows for deeper conversations and discipleship to take place at home.

The Gospel Challenge (1st-6th Grade)
Each week, your child will hear a gospel presentation from their teacher. Once we have received Jesus as our savior, the Bible is clear - it is our responsibility to walk out into the world and share the Truth with others. “And he said to them, ‘Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.’” Mark 16:15. We equip your child with an easy way to share the gospel with their friends. When your child understands the gospel, they will be able to join our Gospel Challenge. Your child will take their Mini Jesus and put it in their lunch box or pencil box at school. When a friend asks what it is, they have to tell them. This is an easy way to open up a conversation about the Gospel, and the work that Jesus completed for us on the cross. Our goal is to equip children with ways to share the gospel while they are young, so when they are older, there will not be any fear or intimidation with speaking the truth and telling others about Jesus. When your child shares the gospel, they can come back to church to tell the story, receive 5 Freedom Bucks, and go home with another Mini Jesus, to continue sharing the Gospel with those around them.
Classroom Policy
For the safety of all of our children, only members of the Freedom Kidz Dream Team are allowed to enter our classrooms. Each member of the Freedom Kidz Dream Team has filled out a volunteer application, completed a background check, and have been cleared by the leadership of Freedom Church. We are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding this policy. Thank you for your cooperation.
Check-in Policy
Upon arrival, stop by the Freedom Kidz Check-In Station, where our team will help you get checked in. For the safety of every child, all kids must be checked in before service and visibly wearing a name tag. When you check in, security labels and guardian receipts are printed for both kids and adults—this verification is required at pick-up every time to ensure each child goes home with the right grown-up. If we need to reach you during service, we’ll notify you through the church app. When registering, please include any special needs, allergies, or important details so we can care for your child best and keep Freedom Kidz a safe and fun place for everyone.
Illness Policy
Children may not be admitted to class if they show any of the following symptoms
- Fever, 100.4 or higher in the last 24 hours
- Vomiting or diarrhea in the last 24 hours
- Persistent cough or excessive runny nose
- Rash or eye infections not cleared by a Dr
Freedom Kidz Dream Team
Each volunteer in our classroom has filled out a volunteer application, completed a background check, and have been cleared by the leadership of Freedom Church. Our classroom lead teachers are scheduled to serve in that classroom, for that service each week. If you consistently attend the same service, your child will develop a relationship with their Sunday School teacher.
